Shine a Light of Hope this Giving Tuesday

Join the University of Kent in our “Light up a life” campaign to support vital initiatives that transform lives both on campus and beyond.

By giving to one of our featured projects, you’ll help light up the lives of:

  • Students facing unexpected financial hardship;
  • Sanctuary students who are rebuilding their futures through education;
  • Those living with Parkinson’s disease who are benefiting from pioneering therapies and research.

Your Impact, Your Candle

With a suggested donation of £10, we’ll light a candle in your honour at our Carols Around the Tree event on December 12. Staff, students, and alumni will come together on the Registry Lawn to hold candles—symbols of love, hope and the incredible difference our community can make. You can also leave a message of encouragement on our Donor Wall.

How Your Support Lights Up Lives

  • With support from 50 donors, we could provide a hardship bursary to a student, offering vital assistance during unexpected financial challenges.
  • Reaching 100 donors would raise £1,000 to fund nutritional advice and awareness sessions for two members at the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy, enhancing their quality of life.
  • A community of 150 donors could provide a Sanctuary scholar with a meal plan, ensuring access to regular, nutritious meals on campus for an entire year.
