Preserving Kent's Natural Beauty

For nearly 60 years, the University of Kent's Canterbury campus has been more than just a place of learning—it has been a home. A home where students, staff, and visitors have walked its paths, marvelled at its green spaces, and found inspiration in its natural beauty. We now invite our alumni to become part of this evolving legacy by supporting River of Vegetation, a new project designed to protect and enhance the biodiversity of our campus, ensuring it remains a haven for nature and a space of reflection and growth for future generations.

River of Vegetation: Connecting Nature, Campus, and Alumni Legacy

River of Vegetation is an eight-part continuous walkway woven into the very fabric of the University’s past, present, and future. Lined with pollen-rich, edible, and significant plants, this natural corridor will regenerate vital ecosystems, enhance the campus’ beauty, and serve as a direct link between our Community Oasis Garden and the Diamond Anniversary Orchard. Your contribution to River of Vegetation will not only preserve the campus’ biodiversity but also leave a tangible mark on its landscape—a lasting reminder of the collective impact of our alumni.

Contribute to a Greener Future: Your Lasting Impact on Campus

We are seeking the collective support of alumni to fund a section of River of Vegetation. If 100 alumni each contribute £100, we will have raised enough to cover everything from seeds and plants to pergolas and fencing for one section of River of Vegetation. Together, let’s protect our natural environment and preserve the beauty of our campus for future generations.
